Status Terminology

On the IGVF Portal, statuses are used to indicate the transition state of a specific object.

Standard Statuses

  • In Progress - Object submission has been initiated.
  • Released - Object is released to the general public. In order to transition to 'released' status, the submitting lab and the data wrangler should be satisfied with the metadata and the quality of the object.
  • Deleted - Object was removed. Removal is only possible for objects that have never been released to the general public.
  • Replaced - Object has been merged with another object. This is usually the case for duplicate objects.
  • Revoked - Object was deemed erroneous or significantly below standards after it had been released.
  • Archived - Object was deemed to be obsolete or outdated in comparison with a more current object.

Used by: documents, images, ontologies, sources, variant, software and software version, phenotypic feature, modification, pages, publications, genes, and treatment.

Shared Statuses

  • Current - Object is up-to-date and in use.
  • Disabled - Object is no longer in use.

Used by: labs, users, and awards.
